There is also the option to purchase additional in-app category packages at 99 cents each (ranging from 30+ to 200+ per each category).

I have to say that I was very impressed with the quality of the free included wallpaper images, there is a good selection for just about anyone to consider using on their home or lock screen (or both). It’s also worth mentioning that there are no annoying ads plastered on the app, which is very refreshing to see.

Here’s one for all you money savers! The Coupons App offers a huge range of savings at places such as restaurants, stores & gas stations. The app comes with many features, including a barcode scanner (for price comparison), coupon widget, gas prices & voice search capabilities. There is literally so much on offer & the fact that the coupons are updated so frequently really does put the icing on the cake.

With the coupon offers covering a wide range of products, this is certainly one of those apps that will get your attention on a very regular basis. An impressive free app that will make a very useful addition to anyone’s home screen.

It feels slightly strange posting a review for my own app! While i’m certainly not going to give a biased review, I will make sure that I go through the app’s beneficial features.

The purpose of App Charts is to give you an easy 1 tap access to the latest App Store charts and other features that i’ll mention below. The app lists will be automatically refreshed when the app has started & you can manually refresh these list by swiping down on the screen (similar to the function featured on the Facebook app).

Features include: top paid & free app lists, latest free & paid app releases, top charts for each individual category and a section displaying our latest app reviews. This app is & will always be free, i’m planning on releasing many more updated versions in the coming future. Having the ability to access your computer from a remote location is now a reality for us iOS users, as this free Universal app is now available for iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch.

This is a great option to have, as having such an ability is always a huge benefit for many of us when we need to access certain documents, media, general info etc… While the app is free there is the added option of its in-app purchases, these will give you the added luxury of upgrading to HD video streaming & remote printing – amongst many other features. A great simple layout that’s fairly easy to set-up & is ideally suited for both business & personal use.

Attention all Spartans – Finally we have an official Halo app and it runs on all iOS devices! For anyone even the slightest bit familiar with the Halo series, you would of most definitely heard about or used Halo Waypoint on your Xbox 360. The app itself is almost identical with its general appearance, but there’s more on offer with the ATLAS function (unfortunately an in-app purchase…) which enables you to see overhead views of multiplayer & firefight maps. The great thing about this feature is that it can be used while you’re playing the Halo: Reach/Anniversary multiplayer in real-time, giving you the ability to track team-mates, weapon & vehicle locations etc…

The almost perfect Halo companion which will leave some of us frustrated with the fact that we’ll have to dish out a few dollars for the ATLAS feature, but overall this app is very impressive and a must-have for any Halo fan.

Being a keen Xbox Live gamer I have had to settle for some average third party Xbox Live apps  in the past, so I was quite pleased to hear that Microsoft had finally released this official Xbox Live app. The app itself is reasonably good, it requires you to log in to your Xbox Live account where you can do such things as view your gaming achievements, connect with your Xbox Live friends and view & edit your 3D avatar.

Being a free app makes this a worthwhile download for any iOS user that has an Xbox Live account, though I personally wouldn’t pay for an app like this as you can obviously access all these features online or on your Xbox.

Flies in general irritate me in most ways. While squashing them does leave a good feeling of satisfaction, there is always an unpleasant presence of fly guts left to deal with!… What better alternative could there be than an app that requires you to kill as many of those ghastly creatures as possible – thankyou Fly Smasher!

The aim of the game is to protect your food from the flies, they can be squashed with just a simple tap (you gain points for squashing each type “A” fly, but lose 20 points for squashing a type “B” fly) or by using one of your deadly sprays for multiple kills. You have three lives per game, each life can be lost every time a fly gets to your food. Great intense fun that’ll give those finger tips a good workout!

Vlingo has come to the rescue for all us folk with older iOS devices! It certainly doesn’t compare to the likes of Siri Assistant, but it sure is a nifty little app that many of us will enjoy using & find of good use. The speech recognition works really well & gives you the ability to text, email, search maps, update your Facebook status, search the web & voice dial – all at the command of your voice. The app has simple step-by-step instructions on how to do these various commands to help you get started. Again, a great idea & very handy app – not forgetting it’s also free!
