There are 12 unique New York City locations, on top of all the general battling that you’ll have to do, be sure to make the most of your exploration techniques – I recommend web slinging from one building to another! There is also the option to unlock the black spider suit where you can re-visit all the previous levels with your new abilities.

Based on the original Jaws Blockbuster. Your role as Police Chief Martin Brody is certainly not an easy one! You will be required upon to keep the surrounding waters of Amity Island safe from the deadly shark that lurks beneath. Rescuing the swimmers from the deadly Jaws is fun but very intense, this can be done by touching, flicking & dragging the swimmers out of harms reach – whether it be onto nearby beaches or boats. There are ten challenging & addictive levels for you to progress through. The excellent intensity of the game-play make this app a worthwhile buy for any non-serious/serious gamer.

Capcom have cleverly combined great looking 3D graphics with classic 2D platform style game-play, making this second installment of Gold Knights a great all-round gaming experience. Your mission once again will be to battle against the evil minions of the Ghoul Realm, you can either play the role of Arthur or Perceval (a new addition to this installment). Noteworthy features include the ability to post your updated progress on Twitter & the app also offers some in-app purchases to enhance your game-play. A great app for keen gamers of all ages.

Cannon Cadets is a launching themed game with an advanced level of physics, there are 4 playable characters (RocketBoy, RocketGirl, Pop, Granati and Beats) and 80 beautifully designed levels (plus hidden bonus levels). Generally this is a fun & addictive game that is packed with many great challenges as you progress from one level to the next. In addition to the great challenges, the visual side of this game is very good.

Master of Alchemy

The popular iPad puzzle game is now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. I was unsure of what to expect with this game in general (i’m not the biggest fan of puzzle themed games), but it did really surpass my expectations. Without going into too much detail, the aim of the game is to transform solid, liquid and gas elements into new magical materials using over 20 different abilities. This app requires concentration & lots of common sense, once you get into the game’s rhythm you’ll most likely be hooked on this one for many hours! Certainly one of the best puzzle-themed games that I have experienced.

Keeping in theme with the beginning of the football season, Gameloft has released NFL 2011. The app has been officially licensed by the NFL & contains all 32 NFL teams and over 2000 players. The graphics look great & take advantage of motion capture technology, enabling you to experience the detailed player animations of tackling, running etc. The enhanced game-play allows you accelerate with the ball via tilting your device. A great improvement on the previous version (NFL 2010) with many great game-playing options and features.

Hero of Sparta II

It was many months ago since I previously experienced the original Hero of Sparta (released back in 2008), it provided me with many fond gaming memories & I have been silently waiting patiently for this second instalment! It was well worth the wait and a big step-up in appearance & game-play from the original. The graphics look stunning and fully take advantage of the iPhone Retina display. There are 12 levels to explore in 8 new environments, the overall game-play has so much to offer and the action intensity is virtually non-stop. Your character will have lots of interaction with the environment, giving you the ability to climb cliffs, break gates & ruin temples (on top of slaying the evil guys!). A must-buy for both serious & non-serious gamers.

With 48 challenging courses spread over 6 different exotic locations, you’ll be glued to your iPhone/iTouch for many hours with this particular app. In addition to this, Aqua Moto Racing 2 comes with 12 unique jet skis, 10 ranking levels to climb up (unlocked by winning championships etc) – not to forget the integration of Open Feint, allowing you to compete with friends & others all over the world. Visually, this is a great looking game & being packed full of features & many great challenges make it certainly worth the buy.

Before talking about the game, all you iPhone 4 users will have the full benefit of experiencing this game in stunning High-Definition – making use of the Retina display. There are 8 characters (each has their own special ability) to choose from & these are customizable with various gear etc. With 6 locations and a total of 108 holes of golf to play you’ll be having hours of fun no matter what your virtual golfing ability is. In addition to all these great features there’s a multi-player mode available via online wifi, local wifi and/or Bluetooth.
