Be prepared for some intense sprinting! – as you will soon realise that time is certainly against you. Briefly describing the game, you are in a near-future world where time can either be earned or taken away from you. Extra time can be earned by collecting precious time capsules while progressing with your sprinting (not to forget that you can earn points by avoiding oncoming obstacles) – but beware, as those nasty Minutemen have the ability to reduce your time.

I was particularly impressed with the overall intensity of this game & how well the general tilt & dodge control method worked as my sprint continued. It’s also worth mentioning that this game comes with 16 intense missions and 30 unlockable achievements…

Playing Darts is always a fun pass-time for many of us, requiring skill & a good steady hand is always a benefit! Over the years I have played a few Darts games on my iPod Touch & iPhone, most occasions i’ve only played them once or twice as the negative points out-weighed the positive. So when I started playing Professional Darts Championship I had many reservations about what the game would be like…… but I was pleasantly surprised! There are many game modes available, such as 501, 301, round the clock and pontoon – this alone initially impressed me, especially the tournament option which has more unlockable tournaments as you progress. Most importantly the smoothness of the game-play is great, it’s easy to get the hang of & requires a lot of focusing + accuracy. On top of this there is also an online multi-player option available.

If you like Darts & like apps then Professional Darts Championship is definitely for you!

Prior to its release, I had been following the build-up of this game for some time. Warm Gun is a FPS (first person shooter) that can be played as an online multi-player or an offline mode. You can play as one of the following characters: The Preacher, The 49er, The Shaman or The Blacksmith. Each death-match can be played on one of any of the available maps where it is your role to fight for survival in a free-for-all blood bath!

While a game like Warm Gun has always got its critics, I certainly feel that this game (at the time of its release) has set the new baseline for multi-player FPS games running on the iOS platform. Anyone who likes a good shooter will certainly like Warm Gun!

Prepare for some ice-cold insanity as you take the role of Hippie the Hippo! It is your task to charge your way through each arctic themed level, knocking those annoying cow ballerinas into the freezing cold water – Pulling the back of a hippo’s pants has never been so exciting! On top of this app having solid gameplay appeal I found the general appearance & graphics to work very smoothly – a great effort & nice looking game.

As Elmo is drifting in his heliball it’s your job to swipe him in the right direction – during this journey you will be faced with various obstacles where you will have the opportunity to earn points by popping the star-filled balloons, while avoiding the red balloons. With over 60 addictive & frustrating levels you can be guaranteed many hours of fun as you progress through each stage. great 2D physics & smooth game-play!

Any fan of the original Cut the Rope will tell you just how insanely addictive the general game-play is… Cut the Rope: Experiments is a great addition to the original, the game-play is very similar and includes a few more features – these include the newly added rope shooter & suction cup game elements. The game comes with many levels to work through, I also have the understanding that more levels will be added at a later date. So there’s not too much more to say, I can almost guarantee you many hours of fun with this app, helping Om Nom & the wacky Professor solve the very addictive experiments – enjoy!

Being a huge Street Fighter fan, I was delighted to hear about the release of Street Fighter IV Volt. Capcom have delivered with a brilliant improvement from the original Street Fighter IV, the most popular addition being the online Wifi battle option which gives you the ability to compete against people all over the world. When competing online you can either fight in ranked or friendly matches, winning ranked matches will allow you to gain “Battle Points” or “BP” – as it’s displayed. The negative point from the online battle is that connections can often be lost while the fight is progressing and/or you have just beat your opponent & they un-sportingly decide to quickly exit the match to avoid losing any of their BP and stopping you from gaining any! (you know who you are!). The single player options are also great with an improved character list to choose from. For just a few dollars you can have a truly decent beat-em-up on your iPhone or iPod touch, I strongly recommend this to anyone remotely interested – bring it on & battle me online! When I play an app like Float I judge the experience on many different aspects, including the control functions, entertainment factors & game-play addiction potential. I have to say that this app ticked all those boxes & gives you (the user) a great all-round fun experience. The game simply involves keeping your balloons up in the air (by tapping them) & avoiding them bursting on those lethal spikes! Features include multiple game modes & over 50 unlock-able Game Center achievements. A great simple idea that will give you many hours of addictive fun.

For those of you who are not familiar with Globs, it’s a popular online game that has come to all iOS devices & simply involves matching colors to merge Globs(!), gaining valuable points on the way. The app has 2 game options – classic & time mode, also you have the ability to share you scores on Facebook & even compete on Facebook leaderboards – not forgetting that this game is also Open Feint & Game Center compatible with many achievements to unlock. With a very crisp & simple appearance, this is one of the most addictive apps I have ever played & one that will be staying on my device’s home screen.

World Cup Table Tennis™

World Cup Table Tennis™ – The Addictive Classic Game in 3D

Until experiencing the World Cup Table Tennis app I had never really played any table tennis themed applications before, so I had no idea to what to expect. All in all I was pleasantly entertained by this game, my prior doubts to how the mechanics of this type of game would be were soon gone. Briefly describing the game, there are 4 game modes: Career, Tournament, Arcade and Head to Head – so plenty of options available! The actual game-play is fairly simple to adapt to, I was very comfortable with this process & soon got in to winning ways. A good all-rounder that most table tennis fans will certainly love.
