Weather Tune
The app store has lots of weather apps… Some good, some okay, and some with annoyingly long titles! (developers – you know who you are!). The trouble with having many weather apps, obviously means that in general most of them are very similar in appearance & function… Well not always – Weather Tune has arrived on the app store, bringing a whole new meaning to what we’ve been used to with the standard ‘weather app’.
The first thing that you’ll notice when using Weather Tune is the alternative appearance - almost like a custom built weather station/radio clock, obviously a lot of thought went into the development of the user interface to make it appear quite ‘uniquely’ pleasant & pleasing on the eye. Beyond the appearance is where the fun begins, I was amazed how each of the app’s features was so well integrated within the layout.
Getting down to the features, Weather Tune comes with:
- A ‘current’ weather display – showing data such as current weather conditions, temperature, humidity etc..
- A global weather news feature, updated regularly with the latest world climate news.
- A storm tracker map feature, showing any tropical storm or hurricane currently occupying the US states.
- A selection of online radio stations, when selected they cleverly activate a ‘glowing’ radio display on the app’s interface.
To sum weather Tune up in one word would be.. ‘impressive’.. I admire the unique approach that this app takes & the fusion of weather & music do really sum up the app’s title. A great addition for any iPad user.
