My iStory

The My iStory app allows you to store all your precious/important memories, with the ability to add relevant photos, video clips & writing for each entry. With the information & media that you add, you’ll be able to view it in the app’s diary, built-in calender, media gallery, slideshows – and you can even create your own ebooks.

The app generally works really well. I was impressed with the option that allowed me to select & import my existing media from my device’s camera roll, this was sorted into the month & day when the media was originally added to my device.

A great well-designed app that will have much appeal to anyone who likes to keep a record & reflect on the most important things in life.

Is It Ready Yet?

Cooking in general can be fun & challenging. When it comes to roasting meat it makes all the difference if the meat is cooked to as near perfection as possible to ensure you get the best possible taste, while avoiding the obvious under-cooked risks of food poisoning and  lack of taste or the over-cooked burnt or dry taste & appearance.

The “Is It Ready Yet?” app will eliminate this problem with its ability to give you the recommended cooking time & temperature based on the type (beef, pork or poultry) & weight of the roasting meat. In addition to this, the app also has a built-in cooking timer to help make things even easier!

Fed up of tirelessly flicking through cook books trying to find a recipe that you fancy cooking? Looking for a easier & more effective resource to help you as you’re cooking?… Well, iCookbook could well be a perfect solution for you!

The iCookbook app is full with a wide range of mouth-watering recipes & some pretty cool interactive features too.  Each recipe comes with the necessary details, such as ingredients, preparation and cooking instructions. What makes this experience unique is the voice recognition option, once activated you’ll be able to command this app saying “next” or “back” as you are progressing with your desired recipe.

With the option to configure this app to the present year, every year, you won’t have any hassle having to get a replacement next December.

For those of you who are familiar with TheFind.com, you’ll appreciate just how handy this app will be. TheFind: Mobile Shopping app will aim to help you find the best possible deal for the product that you wish to purchase. Using ‘Red Laser’ barcode scanning technology, you can scan you desired item/s, the app will then do a price check & tell you the best prices sorted by nearest location (including map directions). Great for all you keen shoppers out there…

Xabler Control

Take control of many things in your everyday life – literally! Xabler Control will allow you to operate such things as: lighting, audio video, security, thermostats, DVD, TV, tuner etc – not only can you be in control of all of these within your home, you will have the ability to operate them from anywhere in the world. Without going into too much technical detail, you’ll need to get the Xabler server (available at xabler.com). This app would be ideally suited to a business person who travels around constantly and needs quick access to the electronics within their home.

Wanting to learn the way of the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui? Well, this app won’t make you a ‘Feng Shui Master’, but it will provide you with some useful tips to potentially help balance the energies that surround you, helping you live a healthy and happy life…. well, maybe not exactly accurate to reality, but worth a try for those of us who want some basic Feng Shui advice delivered in a simple and attractive method. You have the option to email (friends, family) these tips, spreading your newly found knowledge to the benefit of others.

Experience cooking the Jamie Oliver way with this great interactive pocket recipe book. There are 55 recipes to follow presented in an easy-to-follow structure, all the recipes include detailed step-by-step photos to make following them as simple and effective as possible. Other features include an interactive shopping list (separating your ingredients by supermarket aisle) and the ability to choose a random recipe via shaking your iPod Touch or iPhone.

StayTunedIn

The StayTunedIn app allows you to keep track of all your favorite TV shows. To make this work for you, you’ll need to search through the TV guide for your favorite shows and add them to your personalized TV guide. You will then have the advantage of seeing when and what channels you can watch your selected shows, including show information and upcoming schedules. The below screenshot will give you a good idea of what to expect.

PhotoFrame

With PhotoFrame you can use your iPod Touch or iPhone as a digital picture frame. It comes with some images to get you started, but obviosuly you’ll be adding your own to the gallery. Once your slideshow has begun, the auto-lock setting on your device will be overiden so you can sit back and enjoy your photo display without having to worry about the screen going blank. The date and time are displayed below the pictures, so you have the added option of using this app as a digital clock.
