This app will provide you with a guide for alternative medicine & what illnesses should be treated with what. Would make a great electronic handbook for anyone who is interested in alternative medicine and/or is seeking to treat a condition with such sort of medicine and would like to do some prior research. Certainly an interesting app to refer to from time-to-time, though from looking at the app’s screenshot, you’ll probably assume that this woman just needs a general hangover tonic!

Headache

This app might be of use to those of us who regularly suffer from headaches. You’ll learn about all the different types of headache, such as the different names and locations where our headaches tend to occur. Using ancient Chinese medicine principles, you can learn about certain pressure points that are connected with each headache type, there are some basic pressure exercises for you to try (selected by licensed acupuncturists for your safety). iPhone users have the benefit of using the vibration treatment on these pressure points – unfortunately this isn’t available for iPod Touch users.

We all need to relax and de-stress at times (some of us more than others), Hypnokit was created by Diana Parkinson – an established Hypnotherapist & Counsellor with many years of experience. The app includes a stress buster and two guided relaxing journeys (to a beach and a meadow). The benefits of this app will leave you relaxed, refreshed and ready for anything… until you get stressed out again!

Chromalight Color Therapy- Jetlag Reducer

The purpose of this app is to help reduce the effects of jet lag (problems with sleeping) after travelling through different timezones. It will display a unique color composition that will supposedly help reset your body clock via calming your nervous system. Includes electro lights, aimed at helping you recover naturally and at a fast pace.

Not to be used by anyone with medical conditions relevent to having skin sensitivity to light.

St John Ambulance First Aid

This app is packed full of useful medical knowledge, including vital advice for both minor incidents and major emergencies. Keeping your device with this app on it at all times could be the difference between life and death. The downside to this application (at the time of writing) is that why St John Ambulance have to charge a fee for it. Surely their knowledge should be available to both those of us who can & cannot afford to pay for the app….

SOS 4 Life – Health Records

With this handy app you can store all of your important medical information – with a touch of a button this information can be translated into another language. This would be very useful if you were away/travelling in another country and ended up needing medical help in a hospital at this foreign location. While your personal information is protected with a PIN, vital medical info can still be accessed in an emergency situation.
