You will be required upon to keep the surrounding waters of Amity Island safe from the deadly shark that lurks beneath. Rescuing the swimmers from the deadly Jaws is fun but very intense, this can be done by touching, flicking & dragging the swimmers out of harms reach – whether it be onto nearby beaches or boats. There are ten challenging & addictive levels for you to progress through. The excellent intensity of the game-play make this app a worthwhile buy for any non-serious/serious gamer.

Generally this is a fun & addictive game that is packed with many great challenges as you progress from one level to the next. In addition to the great challenges, the visual side of this game is very good.

I have a “friend” who has tested this app out & they said it was very humorous and entertaining. There are hundreds of virtual girls available, each with a unique personality, outfits and lingerie (!). The aim of this app is to progress through the levels with the aim of falling in love (lets hope that’s not really your motivation for using this app), you’ll be able to interact with your virtual girlfriend using touch, talk, gestures, actions & gifts. Great light-hearted entertainment that will give you lots of fun & laughter – but don’t take it too seriously ;o)

Master of Alchemy

The popular iPad puzzle game is now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. I was unsure of what to expect with this game in general (i’m not the biggest fan of puzzle themed games), but it did really surpass my expectations. Without going into too much detail, the aim of the game is to transform solid, liquid and gas elements into new magical materials using over 20 different abilities. This app requires concentration & lots of common sense, once you get into the game’s rhythm you’ll most likely be hooked on this one for many hours! Certainly one of the best puzzle-themed games that I have experienced.

Keeping in theme with the beginning of the football season, Gameloft has released NFL 2011. The app has been officially licensed by the NFL & contains all 32 NFL teams and over 2000 players. The graphics look great & take advantage of motion capture technology, enabling you to experience the detailed player animations of tackling, running etc. The enhanced game-play allows you accelerate with the ball via tilting your device. A great improvement on the previous version (NFL 2010) with many great game-playing options and features.

Every now & then it doesn’t do any harm in having some mindless/childish fun, since I got this app I have been doing exactly this! Larry is a multi-talented bird who can sing, listen & repeat what you say and bow to his audience. He does come accross as quite an adorable little character & will be very popular with the children. However, for those hardcore mean people out there – fear not as this app gives you the option to strike poor Larry with a bolt of lightning (I must confess in doing this a number of times!). A great app to get family & friends involved in. iPod Touch users will need an external microphone to get the full use of this app.

It was many months ago since I previously experienced the original Hero of Sparta (released back in 2008), it provided me with many fond gaming memories & I have been silently waiting patiently for this second instalment! It was well worth the wait and a big step-up in appearance & game-play from the original. The graphics look stunning and fully take advantage of the iPhone Retina display. There are 12 levels to explore in 8 new environments, the overall game-play has so much to offer and the action intensity is virtually non-stop. Your character will have lots of interaction with the environment, giving you the ability to climb cliffs, break gates & ruin temples (on top of slaying the evil guys!). A must-buy for both serious & non-serious gamers.
